Frosty The Snowman Blues: Sunday, January 26th

Words, when written, crystallize history; their very structure gives permanence to the unchangeable past. -Francis Bacon, essayist, philosopher, and statesman (1561-1626)

We may not be able to, as we land and clear in Toronto. We then head over to domestic ( only about 1 hour to clear customs and make our next flight).
P.s.No need to add hot tub liquids as I will drain and clean when we get back...
Will update Nanaimomflight tomorrow. Hopefully no fog delays! Cheers, Grog

Hi Grogg!

Another, even foggier morning here so not sure what forecast is for Nanaimo tomorrow. Thin film of ice on patio and bbq cover when I went outside to snap shots.

Actually, I was hoping for a bottle from somewhere local, before Duty Free. In the past I have wrapped any hootch in T-shirts, or the like, and then double plastic bagged and have never had any problem with such in my checked luggage. However, if not comfortable with this, don't worry. A couple of Randy Dunn's magnesiums should make up shortfall!

Cora Lee and Dusty had all the cards last night so Clarisse and I hope to do better tonight. Steak and local shrimp to celebrate our last night at Madroña Manor. Enjoy your remaining time on the beach, in the sun, with a drink with a tiny umbrella! Hello from the Kitchen Crew who are calling me to breakfast! Cheers, Patrizzio!

You are definitely nuts. Wayne

Hi Sarge! Glad that you are now siding with The Sisterhood! On another mater I asked Grogg if he might be able to bring back a bottle or two of local rum. Here is exchange...Thought that last threat might motivate him! Wonder why he feels he has to keep reminding us what to do with hot tub! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Interesting.  Just worried that you will not do it right. Wayne

Hi again Sarge! Guess Grogg is just getting back at me for all the times we played doubles together and I kept telling him to move up! He never got it right on the court because he only played for fun! Cheers, l Conduttore! Touche. Wayne

Hi Peter!

Trust you and Karin are well. Have been house/cat sitting in Parksville since January 9th. Corinne brought Clara and Dusty over on Thursday, January 16th and we've had a lovely time, right on ocean. Head back to Vancouver tomorrow when our friends return from Nassau. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Jo-Anne and Colin! Trust you are both well. Fondestos from Cora Lee to you both! Cheers, Patrizzio! Pics: Extremely foggy again this morning with a thin film of ice on patio and bbq cover!

Hello Favourite Floridians! Trust all goes well in the land of orange juice, golf and Disney World! Fondestos to you both from everyone here! Cheers, Patrizzio!

Pics: Bridge with Kurt, visiting from Nanaimo; with Ricardo from Squamish; Big Al, Ruthless, Ricardo's wife; The Sisterhood imbibing and machinating; sunset; shrimp boat with lights on net floats, sweeping "our" bay; mountains on mainland with icing sugar! Overcall and made!

Hello to our Favourite Q&A Plant!

Great vid! I played it again and Cora Lee, in the next room, immediately said, "Is that Tim?" Trust all goes well in the land of controversy and wonderful wine! Sorry it has taken me so long to send along another message. No excuses but plenty of reasons!

Fondestos to you from everyone here! Cheers, Patrice!

Hi Patrice, Hopefully it is as nice a morning over there as it is here! Had a really fun time at an interesting restaurant last night called simply delicious on main st.  http://sdgalleria.wordpress.com/  celebrating several birthdays including my own (29th). The food and atmosphere were great and the drinks were very inexpensive so flowed freely!.

With regard to the invite for Foster boy, we will be away in Mexico so we’ll have to make it out to the next function but thanks for asking.  Mulling over going skiing for a few hours with the boys today, otherwise will definitely get out for a walk around the lake or something as the day needs to be enjoyed. I got out on my motorcycle for a ride yesterday and it felt like a beautiful spring day!. Have a nice day and we’ll talk soon. Cheers, Al                  Hi Big Al, Motorcycle Man and Liar!

Belated Happy Birthday! Didn't realize that you were only 29! Guess you youngsters really can't keep up with seniors more than twice your age!!! Thanks for website for restaurant. Clarisse had heard about it when I asked The Sisterhood!
Take care of yourselves. Fondestos to Coco. Cheers, Patrizzio!

  Hi Patrice et al,

Thank you very much for the birthday greeting and good news! it's not belated as it's this coming Wednesday. Thanks again and have a great day!, cheers, Al

Hi Patrick, We're glad to know that you braved the elements and made it back safely. Your time there was certainly perfect with mostly March like weather. We wish you a Happy Sail back to the mainland where hopefully the fog has lifted for your return. Ruth

Hi Ruthless!

Thanks for your concern. My group were in the process of phoning my financial advisor to see how much cash they would inherit when I hadn't shown up!

Great to know you are still thriving in Squamish. How is Ricardo? We are quite worried as we don't really know any other Grumpoids of his calibre to replace his hyper-jaundiced outlook! Enjoy your elevated sunshine as we are still shrouded in fog, here in Paradise Parksville. Still, wonderful cycling weather, as you so aptly note, and I went for another grand ride today:

Dusty is watching the Pro Bowl wishing he was in Hawaii. Rosita and Cora Lee are preparing steaks for dinner. I've just made a mixed green salad and have opened a 2012 Andeluna Malbec, Uco Valley, Argentina, 14%, which Clarisse is quite taken with so I am now her Favourite Son-in-Law! We enjoyed spicy shrimp, (Local fisherman trawl bay we look out upon.), for appetizers so life is pretty damn good.

When will you visit your friends at Harbour Terrace? Gang here say come on down when you can spare another weekend for bridge, hootch, (golf, perchance), and good times!  Fondest of fond regards to you both. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Giggster!

I expect, since I haven't heard from you for aeons, that you are in the Winner's Circle at the PCO! When is the NRBC meeting? February 9th? Gang here send fondest of fond regards. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Hi Raymondo! I trust Sylvia is feeling better. Cheers, Il Conduttore!

Pat, Sylvia is on the road to recovery and she spent a couple of days with physio colleagues developing questions for a competency exam. She is also back on the painting but no exercise just yet. May have to take a couple of days off myself. Fog has been quite thick here also, although it does clear when you are a few hundred feet up.

Must get a note off to Jim Brownlee. I see he is off to Australia, fairly soon I think. Must phone Arthur also - feel guilty about my procrastination. Reading 'Alex' by Pierre Lemaitre translated from French. It is quite dark and violent and very suspenseful. The Sunday Times regards it as 'A Parisian version of Lisbeth Salander'.

I see that UBC won the rugby sevens tournament in Las Vegas. Top teams involved although they were in a college division. Very good achievement, nevertheless. Time for Downton, although it's nowhere near as good as the earlier series. Ray
