The sum of human wisdom is not contained in any one language, and no single language is capable of expressing all forms and degrees of human comprehension. -Ezra Pound, poet (1885-1972)
- Skopelos International Film Festival for Youth (SIFFY) Suzy Birstein http://www.suzybirstein.com/ comes every other year from Vancouver Island to Skopelos. We have had several people from that area work at SkopArt. It is a small world. You guys know we are happy to entertain so if you ever come back to Skopelos you know where to find us!
Patrick James Dunn I just took a quick look at Suzy's CV/Bio and I see that she instructs at Arts Umbrella which is a well known Vancouver organization for Visual and Performing Arts on Granville Island, located but a few minutes from where we live. GI isn't an "island" in the sense of either VI or Skopelos but nevertheless a bustling market and home to Emily Carr University of Art and Design as well as countless other artist's studios, craft galleries, etc. You should come and visit. We like to entertain as well! Let me know your flight number and I'll collect you at the airport!
- Chloe Alexis Dunn Nope main and 7th or so but great photo
Hi Die Hottentotenpotentatenpelotoner!
Trust you are well. Assume you attended the memorial service for Aubrey. R/R had decided, earlier laster evening, not to golf today, (Ruth's voice is still Minnie Mouse-ish with her laryngitis!), so we plan to play bridge this morning and then have brunch before they depart for the Mainland.
Just wondering if you have given more thought to coming over for a few days. According to forecast supposed to be pretty sunny until next Monday. Let me know what you think and we'll plan accordingly. Fondestos and Cheers, Il Condutore.

Quite a weekend! Glad you survived!!!
Not a big deal about numbers, etc., but if you do call we are in Parksville at number I gave to you when last we spoke. We'll be home some time in the afternoon of the 27th, next Monday, so if you want to wait until then, or next day, that is fine. I'll leave decision in your more than capable hands! I'll be in and out tomorrow but probably won't leave until 10:00 am. Thanks and Cheers, Patrizzio!Greetings back. We're alive despite five days over 40 last week. Sleep, drink water, sleep more. Even drank beers a couple of days and a white with soda. More water.
Working at the car yard this week while Ed and Jane take a mob to Uluru for J's birthday. Hope to follow up my first sale last week! Zoe 30 today our time. Great pics, thanks. S. Hi Old Oakites, Transplanted or otherwise!
Trust you are surviving heat. Weather here has been cloudy and cool but otherwise dry. Just the right temperature for quaffing red wine! Monday morning was lovely so after brunch we took a leisurely stroll along the flat rocks of the shore, the tide being out. Three seals honked noisily at passing kayaker and he said they came quite close to investigate his tiny craft.
Back to MM to help R/R pack car and then we bade them goodbye. Rest of gang spent a lazy afternoon reading and watching TV while I went for another ride. Wanted to explore a bit of Parksville, on the north side of the Englishman River, so made for there and went as far as the sports complex near the centre of town. Quite a large park there with a significant asphalt boardwalk around much of the crescent beach. The tide was out so mud/sand flats extending quite a way out into bay. Made for Cottam Point after that and encountered more deer, (6), than I've seen since being here. Lovely creatures although I guess the homeowners here might feel otherwise as I'm sure they feed on their gardens, lawns, etc. Stats for ride:
http://connect.garmin.com/activity/433439404#.Ut384Yf2A6s.emailHome for a quick shower and then I made a salad for dinner. Rest of meal consisted of overlefts from weekend so we are still eating like royalty. Quiet evening as we've had some late nights of late. Coriandre and her parents will drive to Courtenay tomorrow morning to have lunch with a close friend of the Durstons who now lives in the same care facility in which Clara's sister, Ellen, once resided. They are to go back following day to see Clara's twin cousins. I'll probably go along but no room in car, tomorrow, once they reach Courtenay and collect friend, so I'll stay home. Hope to ride to Fanny Bay but will see how day turns out. I have been asked to send along best wishes and fond greetings from Clarisse, Dusty and Cora Lee. Cheers, Patrizzio!Pics: Gang enjoying life; my latest high-fashion, cycling look! Brunch chef, walk and goodbye this morning/afternoon
P, Goonish Gees to Cooncow. Thanks to the creator -- Yukon Tlingit
Sounds like you are having way too much fun over there and with some modest rides to sober up.
The Celebration of Life ceremony that Mark and his three sisters put together was really touching and very well put together considering all the time constraints. Mark was running on fumes and hurtin of course
but he delivered a very moving tribute eulogy to his his father. I learned many things about him that I did not know -- certainly gave me another side to the man whom I wished I had known better. Many Yukoners showed up so it was both haunting and interesting to see these people after 30 - 40 years.
Thanks again for your invite to the Hedonista Chateau. I will likely not get there this week as I have been brow beaten into playing the PCO -- play likely starting Wednesday. To be honest I would prefer to ride with you on the island and partake in the revelry at the Chateau. When are you vacating - ever? Fond regards to all the surviving revelers, W
Hi Goonish Gees Giorgio!
PCO sounds like fun. I always enjoyed that tourney. However, sorry you can't make it across The Salish Sea to join bridge, rides and revelry. Next time! Cheers, Patrizzio!
Hi Big Al! Trust you are well. Loved the brass band! Cheers, Patrizzio!
Hi Rosemary!
Trust you are well in spite of your washing, paperwork household tasks! Funnily enough we are house/cat sitting for friends who are in Nassau for a few weeks.
Much as we'd love to return to Europe this year, I don't think such a trip will be possible. Primarily due to the fact that Corinne and her siblings are organizing a large family reunion, in August, in Manitoba, to celebrate her parent's 69th wedding anniversary, as well as Dusty's 90th birthday. Clarisse turns 89 the day after we return to Vancouver so Cora Lee is arranging a party at our place, inviting many of our friends who have come to know both Clara and Dusty over the course of their many stays. I am still "toying' with coming to England/France by myself as good friends, Tina/Trevor, from Adelaide, have rented the same place in Neffiès as I did, this coming September. Cora Lee is saving for a proposed trip to India in 2015. At any rate, if I do manage to orchestrate the journey, I'll let you know as soon as I know myself! However, please don't concern yourself about a long stay as I would most likely be en route to Languedoc, stopping to say hello and collect my bike and riding gear and steal a few tomatoes!
Back from The Future, Cora Lee brought her parents over this past Thursday. The four of us will be here until the 27th, day Grogg and Lurchesca return. This Friday, two sets of other friends arrived so we had a grand time while they were here, eating, drinking, playing bridge, going for beach walks, and the like.
Hello to Andre The Giant and we'd love to see him, if he has a moment, in May. We will be back from Mexico by the end of the first week of that month. We are attending Nicole's/Marvin's, (Flamin's/Sarge's youngest), destination wedding in Cancun. Cheers, Patrizzio!
