| Lia! |
Dear Corinne and Pat
What a surprise to receive two wonderful children books from you
through Corina Hadorn a few days ago. Thank you very very much from all
of us also from Sabine, Lia and Simon. Since these fine books came to
us, they will belong to our children book library
and they are the first books Lia holds in hands, turns pages and takes
them in her mouth. She listens carefully to the poems with rhymes and
watches the pictures - in fact this is the opening to literature to her
at least in our house, what a gift you made!
Its also a gift to us, we remember these poems from past days,
eventually also from the wonderful times with you and Chloe and Ayn in
your Arbutus-house in 1979....unforgettable times!!
We trust all of are fine and you enjoy a warm pre spring in beautiful Vancouver. We had our first BBQ burning old wood from the trees. We love the early warm spring and take quite often small trips in and around CH. Nicolas has finished his civil service and started working as an architect in Zurich. He gets to know real life now. Simon works in Basel, he enjoys working with (a bit more relaxed) new colleges but he is 12-14 hours away from home.Sometimes during late shift he spends a night in Mikes student apartment. Eveline spends a lot of time in her atelier and likes all events between Bern, Zurich and Basel. Besides all that we love very much grand-parenting our darling Lia. Thanking you very much again, our warmest greetings to all of you, Heinz

P.S. many thanks for excellent pictures from Lady Coramandel and
Jean and John with homemade goodies. Pat, your biker competence is more
than back, how do you do that?
What a cutie Lia is! I love the antennae they've installed on her head!!

Hello Patrice, YUM !. A very fine looking lot I must say! and the attendees are
very handsome as well!.. Looks like a fun visit. Congrats on the epic
ride as well that’s a darn good haul..I’m sure the grand day was very
motivating as well!!.
I spied a derelict bike propped up on a sign post on my way to
Point Roberts on Monday and being the junk hound that I am I had to stop
and have a look. Coincidentally I had been laying in bed awake at 4 in
the morning as I frequently am and thinking
about stuff which included where I could get a set of handlebars for
the lotus as I don’t care for the low racing style ones that are on it. I
figured I would look at a few local shops to see what was available but
thought the best thing would be to find a
donor bike that I could get some parts from.
Well funnily enough the
bike
I saw was a mountain style with appropriate bars and levers I could use
as well. I drove by it at first as it looked like someone may have
locked it up while visiting somewhere or working at a house under
construction. I went beyond it a hundred yards and then
looked at it again in the rear view mirror and hit the brakes as I
couldn’t resist going back for a further look.
As luck would have it it definitely appeared to be abandoned and put out for someone just like me looking totally decrepit and unlocked. It was a total piece of junk but unbelievably had all the parts I needed for $0 so I happily grabbed it, threw it in the back of my truck and carried on smiling at my good fortune!.

Still busy these last few days and likely till the end of the week
looking after my backlog of work for others but hopefully on the weekend
can start to get to all the “Al” stuff I’ve been wanting to work on. Talk to you soon, Cheers, Al
Thanks for A's number. Bruce said he will be in Oliver that week but unfortunately he and his crew will be in the midst of bottling which means all hands on deck and a very busy week. He would not have time to see you if you visit on 28th.
Bruce said he may have a window of opportunities the morning of the 29 (Sat) and perhaps best to call him that week end to see if he will stay in Oliver for the week end if the bottling is not finished by Friday late afternoon (a very crucial and labor intensive time as crew and equipment is very expensive and all has to be done quickly without interruption during the week when crew/staff is available). Bruce said you can always call him on his cell Sat. and find out if and when he is around during the week end. Ciao, Ginette

2012 RESERVE SAUVIGNON BLANC
2012 RESERVE VIOGNIER-MARSANNE
BRONZE:
2012 CABERNET FRANC
2012 SOUTH BLOCK UNFILTERED MERLOT Patrick,
i have a favour to ask of you. I have a Kuwahara X Country Performance bike and I am wanting to sell it. It is a 21 speed, bike frame of 23 inches and it has hardly been used. Gerry thinks it is a steel frame but we don't know for sure. I have had it for several years but can't remember when I got it. I would appreciate you giving me a suggested sale price. Everything is in good working order.

We are surrounded by boxes. It is astounding how many things are in cupboards etc. and I think we are pretty good at getting rid of things we don't use. We are to be out of our house by April 1 and now our place isn't going to be ready until the end of May. We will be street people I guess. Thank you. Dawn. PS it is a beautiful blue colour.
Why didn't you stay in Hawaii as sleeping on the beach is rather romantic while sleeping on an exhaust air vent is not only uncomfortable but dangerous!
Further to your inquiry, I have asked my bike people, (Whirlygig's son, Jacob Two-Two just recently worked for a Giant, near Burrard and 4th), so he should be able to find out what your Kuwahara is worth, if anyone can. (Why didn't you attach a picture instead of the PS: "it is a beautiful blue colour" Potential buyer: "Okay, I can't wait to give you $5,000. Please, please take it as blue is my special, special colour!" Honestly, sometimes I wonder about you having been on the Board of Governors of UNBC, Donna Maria!
And don't play the moving game with me, either. Cora Lee's interior decorating syndrome started up, again, last week so I was conscripted into re-arranging all the furniture in the spare bedroom, now officially "her office". (Long, convoluted story which I will save until next we share a bottle of Night Train somewhere on the Downtown East Side!) Had to remove both doors from the bedroom entrances and we still don't have our bedroom one hung. Need to leave it off until we decide what to do with a very large TV cabinet. Feel like I'm sleeping in a consignment wharehouse.
Well, will be in touch once I have an answer for you, Donna Maria. Until then, Buona Fortuna with emptying your cupboards. Must away as I'm to have a salad ready and table set when Cora Lee returns from tonight's meeting, around 8:00 pm! Fondestos and Cheers, Scullione Patrizzio
Pat, Cobby does not know much about the bike brand except that he believes it was sold by Can Tire. You might try looking on craigslist for comparative pricing. W
Patrick, First off I was Chair of the board for 3 1/2 years - yes they re-elected me each year! Next, I suggested to Gerry that we send a photo but he said it wasn't necessary. I will go out to the garage right now and send you a photo on his phone. I loved your email. So much news and photos too. You are amazing! Your flakey friend, Dawn

Hi Chris!
Trust you are well. I'd be more than delighted to participate in the Legacy Interview Project. I've had a chance to watch some of the interviews so I have a bit of a sense of what is involved. If I am to be interviewed, will you be sending me something beforehand? Also wondering about timing of actual interview as we are doing a reasonable amount of travelling and I obviously need to be in Vancouver for taping.
Thanks for "nominating" me. Do we receive "UBCers" rather than "Oscars" or is it Bronzed Books instead of Golden Globes? Look forward to hearing from you. Cheers, Patrizzio!

Lads, Thanks for the ride today. I expect you might have known Paul Marley. There is a piece in this newsletter. G
The studio is at Emily Carr University, I am there 3/4 days a week 11AM to around 4PM, it is a studio called Leeway on second floor in the North bldg, take main entrance, go up the main stairs and there are sign for Leeway studio which is at the end of the Hall going East! it is a shared studio so visitors are kept to a minimum, I will not be there likely until end of April as I have just had surgery to my right hand (for Dupuytren contractures) and will be in bandages for 2 weeks then rehab etc. so I am taking a hiatus until the first or second week of April...Best email me the day before you ever plan to come and I could confirm whether the next day I am planning to be "in residence" or not at Leeway! Ginette
If it has to be the 6th I am ok with that too, but just need to find out soon so I can get work off for the evening VL
